Review of Erin Brockovich (2000) by Scott E — 19 Feb 2009
I had forgotten ho wmuch I loved this movie. Really, when I saw it in 2000, it was hyped up, and Julia Roberts won an Oscar, and I appreciated it. But I saw it again recently, 9 years later, and I was shocked at how hard the movie hit me.
It was more personal this time, as I lost a brother to cancer. I began to appreciate the heart of the film much greater. I watched it by myself and I cried a lot. Never mind Pretty Woman, this is the best performance of Julia Roberts career.
Albert Finney is perfectly cast and is wonderful. This is a must see film.
