Review of Erin Brockovich (2000) by Kacy M — 20 Oct 2009
Amazing movie and great true story as well. Erin Brockovich, the real woman behind the film, is even greater than her film portrayal. She had no formal law training, but knew that these people were killing the citizens of the town for what, a few bucks out of their wallets that it would take to dispose of the pollution correctly.
It is cruel what companies like this do and empowerment like this is a beautiful thing. In real life, Erin Brockovich, regular citizen, was able to get the case settled in 1996 for $333 million, the largest settlement ever paid in a direct action lawsuit in U.
S. history. Score one for the little guy.
