Review of Eraserhead (1977) by Jimmy M — 09 Mar 2010
Lynch gets a lot of fears on to celluloid in his first film. A clear cut metaphor for his fear of fatherhood but twisted in such a way that only lynch could do. It's an extremely bizzare mix of horror, comedy, weird and just super gross.
It's certainly not for everyone or even most people but I will say it's rarely ever boring and manages to capture the isolation and loneliness of the modern world through his static cinematography beautifully.
