Review of Eraserhead (1977) by Mike T — 05 Dec 2010
Whether or not I give this a half of a star or a full 5, it makes little difference. Eraserhead is a wild experimental-type movie that examines the male paranoia of parentage, among other things. To talk about it does it little justice - it must be experienced.
On one hand, it is awful and disturbing and not worth any of your time, but on the other hand it is a masterpiece film that recreates a perfect surreal nightmare that will pierce your thoughts and make you feel things you didn't know you could feel while watching a movie.
This is not for the light-hearted, and cinephiles would rejoice at this tremendous achievement in indie film-making.
