Review of Eraserhead (1977) by John M — 03 Jan 2011
One of the lowest budgeted films that really assaults your senses with its symbolic experiments of atmosphere and tone. For me it was a paranoid journey into the fear of responsibility and fatherhood and also social decay and industrialisation.
Who knows what Lynch really intended with this film. It's best not to overthink this and see it as a film that set the tone for more surreal and interesting work from a cinematic genius and bask in its iconic imagery!!
