Review of Eraserhead (1977) by Brandon L — 22 Dec 2013
A masterpiece in what can be done with film as a visual art form and a work of surrealist art. The acting is fairly sub par, but fairly good considering the actors being the cast of an independent film and Jack Nance being effective above the rest, the plot and narrative is very much whatever you make of it on your own interpretation, but where the film makes it's five stars for me is how innovative, creative, beautifully dark and surreal the cinematography and direction is.
The film is like being in a dark and twisted dream, and it is to me in its own world a surreal and twisted Citizen Kane in the regards of look and style.
