Review of Eraserhead (1977) by Kevin R — 07 Jul 2014
In heaven everything is fine.
Henry Spencer is dating Mary in a futuristic society that appears to be post Apocalypse and the country is far more industrialized. He accidentally gets Mary pregnant and her eccentric family couldn't be happier because now they want Henry to marry Mary. Henry agrees, but when his baby is born, the baby is a mutant. Will the baby drive Henry, Mary, and her crazy familiar even more down the loony trail or will it cause them to ban together and become a family?
"Did you and Mary have sexual intercourse?".
David Lynch, director of Mulholland Drive, The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, Dune, Wild at Heart, and Lost Highway, delivers Eraserhead. The storyline for this picture is very interesting and unique and reminded me a little of Basketcase. The special effects were well done and the acting was better than I anticipated. The cast includes Jack Nance, Charlotte Stewart, Judith Roberts, and Jack Fisk.
"You're in very bad trouble if you don't cooperate.".
Eraserhead is a movie I have definitely been trying to see for some time. I became very excited when I discovered Showtime was going to air this picture so I DVR'd it as soon as I could. I will tell you this is a very unique picture that is odd but definitely entertaining and a must see. I strongly recommend seeing this picture.
"We're having chicken tonight. They're man made.".
