Review of Eraser (2014) by Tony F — 21 Nov 2010
Eraser is a predictable good cop, bad cop yarn with all the usual trappings of a Ahnold flick.
Tone of bodies, near misses and one liners galore after nearly every kill.
The good part; cool rail guns that see through walls and find the victims heart beating for a clean one shot kill.
The bad part; most of the rest of it.
Don't get me wrong, it's a decent popcorn flick but, there is no 'reality feel' about this and it seems like James Caan and Ahnold are in a body bag contest yet can never hit each other worth beans.
From gigantic alligators with CG blood, to buggered aircraft that can fly precise routes with an engine ablaze and still beat Awnold to the hot spot even though Awnold had a 'leg up' by falling out of the sky within feel of the ground thankfully, his backup chute opened at last millisecond and the car he caved in saved his fall.
I dunno, it went over the top and you just have to tongue in cheek it but, it is classic Ahnold and not a bad action flick.
