Review of Eragon (2006) by Sarah D — 19 Apr 2012
With good animation/ special effects and plenty of non-graphic fight scenes, this is a fun movie for young teens or anyone in the mood for a basic adventure movie with nice visuals and low emotional/mental demand.
Unfortunately for the more analytical viewer, the story-line is just too predictable to take seriously, the drama makes you laugh, the romance makes you groan. And my friend fell asleep during the climatic battle scene. To someone who has attempted to read the relatively slow-paced 500-page book, Eragon the movie felt sickeningly fast-paced, especially for the fantasy epic it is supposed to be.
Overall, an ideal movie for cynics to pick apart individually, or in large groups.
