Aside from a fairly well done job on Saphira, the rest of the movie fell pretty flat. Compared to the original story, the film sped through from scene to scene as if scrambling to cram all the material (and that's no little amount) into 100 minutes.

Jeremy Irons' talent was wasted on poorly written dialogue for Brom. John Malkovich as Galbatorix was irritating at best. The film turned out to be far too much fantasy cliché at a far too rushed pace to be enjoyable.
