Review of Equus (1977) by Brian M — 01 Oct 2007
Once again, I think that the play was better because of its use of the theatrical environment.. But I like this film version too mainly because of a very fine performance by Richard Burton.. (his monologues are riveting, especially the one about sacrificing children to an Aztec God), Peter Firth reprises his role as the the demented Alan Strang from the original National Theatre production and here again we have another brilliant performance by Jenny Agutter.
.. This film was shot outside of Toronto, making it at least partially Canadian...
