Review of Equus (1977) by Kerstin E — 04 Sep 2005
The material here doesn't make it into a good movie. Richard Burton does a fantastic job, but his monologues he says into the camera is self-indulgent and pretentious, though not his fault. The story is a little strange, kid blinds some horses and goes off the deep end.
And its Burtons job to find out why. The kid is unlikable, which hurts the overall impact of this movie.
