Review of Equity (2016) by Brianna J — 18 Dec 2016
First off, I wanted this to be a movie that made a statement about women in the workplace and how it is equality, not just a man's game and world. I ended up disappointed and here's why. It is a step towards taking a look at how women are treated in the hardball workplace field.
The technical terminology is archaic, the plot is interesting yet predictable, and the acting is fantastic! I do not like how these women are supposed to be strong role models for women, yet they all succumb to the man's world theme despite how it may have started.
The women all use their womanly wiles instead of their wit and game to do well in business, screaming when frustrated for answers like a frustrated hormonal housewife and mother. The cinematography was well done and minimalist, but the characters were not developed well.
