Review of Equilibrium (2002) by Philip H — 04 Aug 2012
Equilibrium definitely resembled the "Matrix" in some of its action sequences. This is definitely a distopia type future of a man in a world without emotions. So without emotions there is no war.
In the book "1984" the government removed anything from the public that invoked emotions, and the book "Fahrenheit 451" the government burned books with artistic and aesthetic value.
The ultimate way to control humans is by removing their emotions and to remove literature that invokes it. Hopefully this isn't what is in store for mankind. Personally the movie was very thought provoking for me.
