Review of Equilibrium (2002) by Evette M — 07 Aug 2013
Another barf-worthy overly dramatized movie attempting to deal in lofty ideas. Writing this as I watch so as to alleviate queasiness. some questions: -how come neo can stand in open fire unscathed? -how come king george gives eloquent emotional dramatic speech about devaluing emotions? -how come hitler is posterchild deterrent _and_ model from which societal structure, persecution/extermination tactics, and prop ideas are derived? -how come damian omen child speaks in parables? -how come so much killing to eradicate killing? -how come clerics can feel suspicion? -"combustion"? is there no better euphemism? -how will they patch up giant hole in wall in classroom leading to underground by time recess is over? -no simple beetus litmus paper to test blood chemistry, instead archaic polygraph machine? -cute puppy my favorite character.
