Review of Equilibrium (2002) by Steve G — 11 Jul 2014
Movies about controlled societies are always valuable, but this one has an amateur, childlike feeling to it which is disappointing it conflicts with the underlying storyline which is an important warning in the style of 1984 with some attempt at arty scenes reminiscent of Gattaca.
Bale does his best to make it feel like a grown up movie but his work is undone by the preposterous fight sequences and inappropriate cute dog moment! Could have been so much better.
