Amazing film, its only weakness is how heavily it borrows from 1984, but it's simply a re-imagining of the book with a 'post-1984' take on love. Both Equilibrium and 1984 are at their core explorations of the nature of love and society/humanity, and where it matters, Equilibrium delivers a fresh take, one that is striking and deeply complex.
