Review of Epic (2013) by Greg R — 02 Feb 2014

Not horrible, but not all too good either. That's usually the case when a film preaches too loudly. And unfortunately for Epic, it preaches a loud sermon. The film follows a human who is introduced to a world of forest protectors.

This is basically like a kid version of Avatar, which was a rip off of Pocohantas. Sure, it looks very pretty and the animation is well done, but it hits all the standard beats of an animated film. The voice acting is pretty great, and it should be considering the huge cast.

But like I said, it gets all too preachy, especially when Beyonce's Queen shows up. Overall, kids might get a kick out of it, but that doesn't mean they have to make the films just for them. Throw some stuff in their for the older people, too.
