"Entourage" is a film adaptation of an HBO series of the same name about a washed up director who is trying to find his breakout directing role in the lion's den that is Hollywood. I honestly did not care for this film.

It isn't the worst film of the year, but it's ridiculously out-of-touch with its target audience. Almost no one is going to be able to relate to this film on any level. The narrative is scattered, and from beginning to end, the film doesn't really go anywhere.

When I find myself asking the fundamental question, "why should I care?," I know a film has misfired on some level. There are several celebrity cameos in the film, and Ronda Rousey plays the love interest of one of the guys.

She could do worlds better than this role, and it's a shame she was cast as a misunderstood tough girl with a soft heart. A lot of the actors in this film were miscast, and despite the hip lingo and numerous references to popular culture, I did not find the film relatable at all.

It's really not a failing film; it actually does fulfill the spirit of the HBO series, but it's a film that never should have been made at all. No one cares about sex tapes and the way the media grapevine is portrayed is both cynical and nonsensical.

Since most of us don't live glamorous lives like these characters, why should we care if they will have several million dollars left to play with? This film is extremely campy and despite its overinflated sense of itself, it didn't fire on all cylinders for me ------------------------------------------------------------------ C.
