Review of Entourage (2015) by Leon W — 31 Oct 2015
HBOâ(TM)s long running series being brought onto the big screen, bringing back the characters and maybe continuing were it left off. I have yet to see the series, but I have to say the movie alone is enough to shine the light for the audience that is not familiar with the show. Entourage is a hilarious drama film, the characters chemistry are fun, the humor on Hollywood and the media were awesome and the cast did a well job with their characters. The film follows Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) after a failed honeymoon, the rest of his boys Eric (Kevin Connolly), Drama (Kevin Dillon), and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) reunite with him on his yacht. Chase decides that he wants to star in a movie and also direct, but would need help with his agent Ari (Jeremy Piven) to help fund the movie. Several months later, Chase needs a little extra money to help the finishing touches on his movie, which worries Ari about the movie being terrible. Ari worries about the work being done with the movie, while he tries to convince Larsen (Billy Bob Thornton) about investing a little more for the project.
Director Doug Ellin seemed to bring the characters back from the small screen to the big, but the film does have some flaws from having a real development to the plot. Its basically these four friends cruising around Hollywood talking about celebrities, gossip, girls, and inside on the Hollywoodâ(TM)s lifestyle. It may not have an actual story but it is dumb fun, watching these characters meet other cameo actors like Ronda Rousey, Liam Neeson, ect. If this was an extended episode add on to the series, that is how the movie would be and would have been okay. Since this is a film on its own, the plot is decent. At least, it has a chance being on film and was entertaining and funny.
