Review of Entourage (2015) by Alan W — 10 Feb 2016
I do not find the movie version of the long running HBO TV series as detestable as most reviews do. The show has always been low on satire and high on admiring the very dubious if not reprehensible nature of Hollywood and the movie is no different, except the budget is higher and the misogyny and ugliness now magnified.
Doug Ellin who wrote, directed, produced and probably did the crafts service, is mainly to blame: while the pedestrian direction is competent enough, the script seems like a storyline for a not particularly great season condensed into one special episode stretched out with various unfunny cameos.
If you watch the show, there is nothing here terribly offensive or different for you, but after watching it, you'll remember how little you've missed the show.
