Review of Entourage (2015) by Joe M — 28 Sep 2015
This movie has its head so far up its own ass its devouring its own tongue...which is a shame because there's quite a lot to like here, outside of the morally repugnant stuff (mostly involving women). It's funny. The movie has that going for it. Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) is a great character (even though it makes no sense why he'd avoid his former assistant's wedding...he's not overtly homophobic) and without him the movie is a big nothing.
But the leads and the so called drama they're put through? There's nothing there. If the screenwriter (who also happens to be the producer, director and creator of the show) doesn't give a shit, why should I?
The film also commits a big no-no in that it only shows about a minute of Vince's film. We're supposed to believe that Ari, Vince and Entourage love the film (of course they would since they made it), but we don't see enough of it.
The movie sucks.
