Review of Enter the Dragon (1973) by Shane D — 09 Aug 2010
What would have become of Bruce Leeâ??s career over the long haul if he were given the benefit of his full allotment of years on this rock? I guess I wouldnâ??t have been alone in thinking that he mightâ??ve churned out his fair share of schlock 80â??s actioners but quite possibly, could have had a middle period of brilliant and alternative performances.
Who knows?! But this is the classic that he is most remembered for and it deserves every ounce of respect or at least nostalgic interest that it gets. A very cool soundtrack mirrored by some equally cool scenes, none beating the closing fight sequence in the room of mirrors, which is quite special.
Bruce Lee is magnetic and even though he is a man of very few words, its easy to see why he was on the verge of becoming a mega-star. I still prefer Way Of The Dragonâ??s comic wit to this effort, but its still a classic slice of 70s Kung Fu cinema.
