Review of Enter the Dragon (1973) by Will J — 02 Sep 2010
Although it has a simple storyline, this movie rocked, it finally gave Bruce Lee the chance to break into Hollywood which he more than deserved and finally showed the world how great he really is, a recognition he more than deserved for a long time.
Bruce Lee's fighting scenes were awesome, each showing how perfect and precise his fighting skills were. It was like art in motion watching him fight. The other fighting scenes were done pretty well too, especially from John Saxon who didn't know any martial arts prior to filming this movie. He did a decent job with his fighting scenes.
One criticism I have to give about this movie is that the only reason it was popular and great was because of Bruce Lee. The movie is and mainly about Bruce Lee. He even requested the title of the movie to be "Enter the Dragon" which symbolises his grand entrance onto the big stage. I feel that if you take away the Bruce Lee factor from the movie it'll just be another cheesy Kung-fu action packed movie and not be as popular.
But overall this movie is worth checking out, especially to see one of the true legends of martial arts and who started and spread the interest of martial arts throughout the world.
