Review of Enter the Dragon (1973) by Edgar C — 30 Jul 2010
When any viewer stumbles upon an immensely influential cult action classic like Enter the Dragon, the most natural reaction is awe, no matter how campy the final result is. On top of that, Bruce Lee's last memorable performance is epic. Robert Clouse makes us feel in an American environment intentionally, so the art direction and the very cultural origins of martial arts are shown from a nostalgic point of view. Add, to all of this, sweet fight scenes and one of the most superb climatic fight sequences ever committed to celluloid, and the result is a joyous ride of amazing proportions, not on the level of its Hong Kong predecessors, yet good enough to consider it a genre icon.
84/100.
