Review of Enter the Dragon (1973) by Irish E — 11 May 2010
Enter the Dragon is not a perfect film. It has flaws. Some of which are obvious. The acting in parts seems strained and phony. The fake bruises in parts of the film looks like an eight year old was running the make-up department. There were a couple of blows that were thrown that were so very obvious that they were misses, that it wasn't funny.
The plot is only slightly above average. That is not the reason to watch this film. It is for Bruce Lee's charisma, talent, and charm. He is a pure star. I am not just saying this because it was his last film before his death. This is the first Bruce Lee film that I have watched. It will not be the last.
The mirror scene is pure genius. Whoever wrote it and designed the set for it deserves major recognition.
I recommend it to anyone who has an interest in martial arts or the seventies.
