Review of Enough Said (2013) by Eyal D — 03 Feb 2014
I have always been a fan of Nicole Holofcener. Her few films have been sharply written, insightful and fun. She loves ironies and knows how to get her actors to seem natural in their witty exchanges of her lovely, at times biting words.
Here she's got the perfect showcase for Gandolfini, in his last role, and Louis-Dreyfus, who finally found a perfect big screen vehicle for her comic talents. The film also casts Holofcener's muse Catherine Keener (lovely as always) and Toni Collette (the ultimate character actress) and the film, despite its mature subject on the difficulties of middle age relationships, is actually quite sweet natured and good hearted.
ENOUGH SAID is an unexpected gem.
