Review of Enough Said (2013) by Ellen S — 04 Feb 2014
Every once in awhile I check out a movie about heterosexuals trying to connect and find true love. Not since Blue Valentine have I seen a movie that reminded me how glad I am to be on the other side of the fence. My first question as I settled into the story was "OK..she's a masseuse and she makes house calls to the homes of men (and.
women)." I would not so much have a sexual trust issue with this as a safety concern.
, yet her profession is glossed over as if it was no more risky than being a retail clerk at Nordstroms. Gandolfini was fine, both natural and believable while Dreyfus's performance was too fussy and reliant upon constant double takes, squints, looks of dumbstruck perplexity, or expressions seemingly inspired by a succession of sad dolls. By the time Enough Said was over I had had enough of this particular brand of schtick.
