Review of Enough Said (2013) by Ralph C — 16 May 2014
Ah, this one made me sad. Better than expected. I always complain about the lacking reality in movies...the characters are not real people in real situations. These guys seemed pretty real.
On top of that, this is the second-to-last movie listed for Gandolfini. I never watched The Sopranos so I don't know that side of him. What a fine character to kind of go out with. The character is a legitimately good guy.
Louis-Dreyfus plays down her sexiness in this role. She can actually be quite sexy, but in this she's pretty average and down to earth. And it's a good character because she's generally good but makes a few mistakes. I really didn't like her in a few scenes because of the mistakes and the meanness with them, but the character reedems herself.
What are the odds of things playing out like this? Pretty slim, especially in a large city. But if you can get past that, it's a pretty legit movie. Even if you don't become friends with the exact ex of your new person, you're likely to run into people who have their own opinions. And it's hard not to be swayed by them. But if that new person is right for you then nothing else should really matter.
