Review of Enemy of the State (1998) by Chris D — 29 Mar 2009
Checked it out after watching 'Eagle Eye' which is based on a similar concept, but this film was made nearly 10 years before. The idea is interesting, keeps you on the edge of your seat and the action is good with a little of cat and mouse going on.
I like how it was quite well thought out and creative... But are we really supposed to believe that a security camera fixed on a wall, maybe it can pan left/right.. but then somehow that single camera has 3D video footage of the whole store, including what you can only see from another angle, or from directly above a shopping bag.
. it's just ridiculous and there are things like that in the film that are just ridiculous and make you laugh out loud (or maybe just chuckle to yourself in disbelief). But I liked it as a film as really good entertainment, yet another not to be taken too seriously.
