Review of Enemy of the State (1998) by Curt F — 01 Jul 2009
I am getting to be a pushover by recommending everything lately. This was good, good cast, good action, and good acting. I think they overdid some of the satellite surveillance stuff a little bit with the technology. I also had a little problem with some over casting. Seth Green, Jack Black, Jamie Kennedy, and Scott Caan as NSA analysts? That is way way over the top.
Will Smith and Gene Hackman were solid enough and Jon Voight always can be counted on to play a good bad guy.
The most amusing thing to me is that the sound effect for the satellite moving seemed to be recorded from a Frogger machine. At the beginning of the movie I kept expecting to see someone playing a Frogger machine and then realized it was only a sound effect!
