Review of Enemy of the State (1998) by Robert G — 26 Feb 2010
Another paranoid big brother film, nothing too different here. This is not an original idea for a movie but it is still kind of exciting. I think the movie ran a little long but it is still entertaining.
This is the standard Tony Scott style film. He like to give his movies a rock n roll action feel. The acting is not bad but nothing special. Will Smith has his moments where he shows off his acting skill, but he also has some really bad moments.
Gene Hackman is good and Jon Voight is great. The rest of the cast round out the circle. I have a few casting question but nothing they destroys the movie for me. Like I said this movie is a little long but still entertaining.
Not the best Tony Scott film but about what I have come to expect from him.
