Review of Enemy of the State (1998) by Gareth B — 11 Nov 2009
A high-tech thriller that manages to avoid being thrilling. If the film has anything going for it, it's the performances of Will Smith and Gene Hackman, both of which are extremely good, even when their characters find themselves in some contrived circumstances.
The film, itself, really lacks that sense of doom that really startles a viewer, and a lot of the intensity of the action is lost in some laughable plot developments.
