Review of Enemy Mine (1985) by Jean-Francois V — 22 May 2008
I really love the first part of this film, and perhaps it's no surprise that it's the only part of the film I remembered from watching it as a child. It's an interesting and poignant premise, with inventive creatures and great visuals.
It's the second half that really goes down hill, with ginormous plot holes, laughable action scenes, and plenty of sap. Still, the first half is enjoyable and innovative enough to make this a classic.
I just wish they'd been able to carry it all the way through, and made it the masterpiece it had the potential to be.
