Review of Enemy at the Gates (2001) by Magill F — 14 Oct 2009
The cat-and-mouse sniper showdowns are well-paced, suspenseful, and lots of fun, and thankfully there are plenty of them. However, I found the rest of the film to be merely passable. This may be in part because I'm not a big fan of war movies in general, and to be fair, everyone in this film delivered fine performances.
But after it was over, I really felt no desire to watch it again. I don't feel that I wasted my time watching "Enemy at the Gates", but I don't feel as though I would have missed much had I skipped it entirely.
