Review of Enemy at the Gates (2001) by Ashleigh S — 22 Dec 2009
A glorious imprefection of what a war movie should have- it possesses all that it needs when it comes to sacrafice, war and heroism- the battle sequence in Stalingrad, is infact, startling and chilling.
Yet the granduer the movie builds as a war film, it looses in its dr, unemotional and shallow potrayal of the love triangle. The films emotional, humane side simply does not provide the same effect on the viewer as the director would have hoped.
