Review of Enemy at the Gates (2001) by Thomas B — 13 Dec 2011
Fragments of a potentially interesting true story squeezed into an unfortunate mix of an unengaging plot with a cheesy musical score, an unconvincing love story, and an all-English speaking cast (with the result that one has to check the uniforms to know who's Russian and who's German).
Annaud's cinematography and Perlman's supporting character, Koulikov, are my reasons for giving two stars instead of one. Find a better way to kill 131 minutes!
