Review of Enemy (2014) by Trailesque — 05 Feb 2018
A cool little psychological thriller that features a fine performance (performances?) from Gyllenhaal. An earnest young history professor, who is having some romantic problems, sees the face of an actor in a film that looks like his own.
He awkwardly tracks the guy down and they discover that they are physically identical. Well directed by Villeneuve, with many ordinary interactions that are full of hidden tension. Based on a story by Jose Saramago, "The Double", which would have been a better title.
A couple of weird questions are left hanging at the end.
