I shouldn't have read the book before I got to see this. Sorely disappointed. More 'inspired by' than an 'adaptation of' Ian McEwan's novel, which meant I personally felt it missed little things that created so much more depth to the characters of Jo and Jed. Great acting, great direction, but I couldn't empathise to the psyches in the same way. There could have been so much more to it, but overall the end was a let down. Especially compared to what was a promising, adrenaline-filled beginning.
Not bad, just not what it could have been.
