Review of Endless Love (1981) by Jules E — 04 Apr 2007
Endless Love is another movie that had the material to make a wonderful love story but fails because of the negligent choices the heads of the movie make. The heart of the story was really good and it could have been made into a fascinating subject to inspier people in love coz it tallks about real youth love and what people are willing to do for it but they ruined it since the only thing they were after was making the lead Martin Hewitt look bad and it's always he who is getting into trouble although it's not his fault all the time which didn't make sense.
And sometimes the characters acted in illogical ways which doesn't really help the following of the ideas. The only good thing about the screenplay was how they showed the love between the two leads, we see them making love many times but they focused on the actual love between them not the erotism which was a positif point.
Brook Shields and Martin Hewitt both give bad bad performances and were another example of good looking people with no talent which is really shameful. Especially for Brook Shields, not the best start of career.
And of ocurse the rest of the cast wasn't that fabulous either. The movie had one great thing and it was the wonderfoul song called Endless Love which really is captivating.
