Review of Ender's Game (2013) by Evan V — 10 Jun 2015
As my favorite novel as an adult, I had high expectations for the movie. It of course, had to adapt some things to fit the screen but for what it's worth the movie followed the book. The siblings do have a role in the movie and like in the book they are distant because they're back on Earth.
Ender has a bit more attitude and doesn't struggle as much with identity but the book is detailed and so much of that would not have translated well onto screen. Overall this movie gave great visualization to a wonderful book and managed to carry over the story in a clear and concise fashion.
I do highly recommend the book to any age reader as it's hard to do it justice in a 2 hour film. This adaption was probably the best I could have hoped for and is the best novel adaption I've seen so far in popular titles.
