Review of End of Watch (2012) by David D — 01 Jun 2013
A gritty, realistic portrayal of cops with excellent performances by Jake Gkyllenhall and Michael Pena. There are lots of episodes but little story tying them together. A stronger plot would have made the movie much better.
I found the conceit that much of the movie was supposed to be video shot by the various characters to soon become annoying. The variety of characters wh just happen to be shooting video combined with camera angles that didn't fit with the idea of them shooting it made the notion first intrusive and finally ridiculous.
It is a flawed movie that put together enough talent that it could have been much better but it bis still well worth seeing for what it is.
