Review of End of Watch (2012) by Gareth M — 28 Aug 2013
If you shoot at me I'll shoot back.
Two young police officers with either developing relationships or a family work together on the mean streets of Los Angeles. They both have ambitions of doing the right things and saving people, even if it isn't always by the rules. One day they step out beyond the rules too far and their lives in the police force may be short live due to their actions.
"Policing is all about comfortable footwear.".
David Ayer, director of Harsh Times, Street Kings, and the upcoming films Sabotage (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Fury (Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf), delivers End of Watch. The storyline for this picture is very unique and a nice mix of interesting premise with reality TV film style. The script is very good and the acting is solid. The cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Pena, Anna Kendrick, Natalie Martinez, and America Ferrera.
"This may say Purell but it's really KY.".
End of Watch was a movie that interested me when the previews first aired and I recently watched off Netflix. I found the film way better than I anticipated. I was truly compelled by the characters and the script and stories were so well written. This is a very entertaining picture that is worth your time.
"If you can live without her, then man-up and cut her off. Don't string her along.".
Grade: B.
