Review of End of Watch (2012) by Bradley H — 23 Aug 2014
The overlay that supposedly justifies the style of cinematography wears thin within the first act, and it may have been better to have simply scrapped it. The plot often lacks the thematic connective tissue to tie each of the events together, and characters toss out cop film cliches with regularity but they are seldom given gravitas.
The ending almost lives up to the promise of the opening oration. The strength of the film is the performance of Michael Peña.
