Review of End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones (2003) by Jd T — 19 Apr 2008
A fantastic chronicle of the troubled yet inspirational band, The Ramones. I loved this because it captured lots of critical points of their over twenty years of continual touring. We learn about each of the members (with some departures included).
I never realized how emotionally hurt Joey Ramone was. This band inspired people all over the world to just be themselves and play music. It doesn't include much studio work but there was discussion of their work and hanging with (Mr.
Pistol-pakcing Loony) Phil Spector. You learn about many of their songs and the origins behind them. You see great performances from the early years to their final concert in Los Angeles. You see the fans reactions to the raw power.
You get to learn who inspred the Ramones and hear words from those who were inspiredby them. I absolutely loved this documentary. If you love the Ramones, you should definitely see this film. If you don't love the Ramones, please remove your head from your ass.
