If you take the 999 from 1999 and turn it upside down what do you get? ??? 666!!!!! Holy Shit! End of Days is about as idiotic as that basic realization. Gabriel Byrne is cool as the devil reborn on Earth, but the film has little else to distinguish it.
There are a few decently creepy and twisted moments, but they are drowned out by the fact that the film tries to turn a Satanic thriller (The Exorcist, The Omen, etc.) into a testosterone-fueled action film with Schwarzenegger.
Misguided, but still entertaining, End of Days demonstrates how Schwarzenegger can make even total crap somewhat palatable.
