Review of Encounters at the End of the World (2007) by Kayne M — 29 Sep 2008
Watched this one with my kids (age one and three). They predictably thought the seals were cool, the construction vehicles were cool, and that the sea stars were cool.
I thought that Herzog's line of questioning combined with his lingering shots (to the point they get awkward) helped show different aspects of the people living in Antarctica. Many of them are real characters (the woman who hitchhiked from Chicago to Guatemala in a sewer pipe comes to mind). Photography good, if not stunning; I wish I'd got the Blu-Ray version.
