Review of Encounters at the End of the World (2007) by Tamara O — 02 Jan 2009
I love this movie. One of my favorites from Herzog (I seem to be particularly partial to his documentary work). A beautiful, poetic, and deeply, deeply, overpoweringly movingly human look at the spirituality and religion of science--unstructured and impulsive like a series of journal entries (from one of the world's greatest contemporary artists and thinkers), a warm series of portraits and vignettes, and some of the most beautiful images and sounds you will ever experience.
A movie that makes you thrill at existence.
