Review of Enchanted (2007) by Carol H — 11 May 2012
While "Enchanted" has aged somewhat over the years (thanks to the hit TV show "Once Upon a Time" and the releases of some of Disney's more recent films [which are foreshadowed in this movie]), it's still a fun experience for die-hard Disney fans.
You can tell that it's a tribute and not a parody. It doesn't try to be "Shrek". (That concept *alone* deserves a standing ovation.) Released during a time when family films were all about being 'hip and now', "Enchanted" reminded of us of why we love the classics; that the Mouse House still had that magic touch after all these years.
In my opinion, it was "Enchanted" - not "The Princess and the Frog" - that began the new Disney golden age.
