Review of Encanto (2021) by Bdemers — 27 Nov 2021
Great family movie, full of fun characters and gorgeous animation. The lighting alone gives a magical element to this movie, and it's nice to see a non-Pixar movie breaking some new ground on the big screen.
The only downside to the movie -- and it may not truly be a downside -- is the lack of a true big musical hit. The songs are entertaining but drive the movie rather than serve as a vehicle for the stars (there are no earworms in the movie, and parents may appreciate that).
Overall a great movie that tugs on the heartstrings just enough and an incredible heroine that I hope will impress a new generation of kids.
